Lab Week 2018 Spotlight : Haley Fleharty

Haley is our newest lab technologist at Cozad Community Hospital. She lives in North Platte with her two little girls Rae (6) and Cora (3). She graduated from Mid Plains Community College in 2010 and began her lab career at McCook Hospital. She has worked at Great Plains in North Platte and joined our Cozad Lab Team in the fall of 2017.
What inspired you to be a lab tech: “I was in the radiology tech program and more pre-requisites were added to be done before clinical, so I decided instead of waiting longer to switch my degree; and more “behind” the scenes it seemed to totally fit me. My mom had also gone to school to be a lab tech.”
Favorite part of the job: “We get to see pretty cool things, and of course helping people.”
Hobbies outside of work: “I enjoy spending time at the lake with my kiddos, baking, reading, and relaxing.”
