Evident - New Electronic Health Record System

On May 1st, Cozad Community Health System went live with a new electronic health record (EHR) system. The Cozad Community Health System Information Technology Team has been working hard with employees on the new EHR system that is being used throughout the Cozad Community Hospital and Cozad Community Medical Clinic. Evident, the name of the EHR system, has been training the employees of the Cozad Community Health System since January 15^th. The Evident Team has remained onsite for these first three weeks of May to help employees get acclimated to the system. We applaud the dedication and teamwork that's been happening throughout our entire Health System with launching a new system.

We appreciate the patience as our entire staff becomes proficient with the new EHR system. Please remember to bring your current insurance card/cards and driver's license to scan into the new system when checking in for a medical visit at any of the Cozad Community Health System locations.

2018 Top 20 Best Practices in Quality

Cozad Community Hospital has merited a 2018 Top 20 Best Practices in Quality designation from the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). Cozad Community Hospital was ranked in the Top 20 for Quality among all critical access hospitals in the United States. The NRHA considers Cozad Community Hospital to be an exempler of best practices in all of rural health care. This award will be presented at the Critical Access Hospital Conference on September 26-28, 2018, in Kansas City, Mo. We are honored to be receiving this award and proud to of the commitment to providing the highest-quality healthcare to the community and surrounding areas.

Helmsley ePharmacy Grant

Patients of Cozad Community Hospital will beneft from the latest technological advances that expand patient access to quality pharmaceutical care, made possible through a grant from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust. Helmsley’s Rural Healthcare Program has awarded Cozad Community Hospital $202,158 for ePharmacy, a program that provides first-dose medication review 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week by our licensed pharmacist, Monica Heineman, Pharm D. ePharmacy telemedicine services complete the safety loop utilizing an automated medication dispensing unit at Cozad Community Hospital. This new system will go live closer to the end of this year. We greatly appreciate the assistance of the Helmsley Charitable Trust in making this possible.

National Nurses Week

This week is also National Nurses Week. Cozad Community Health System has wonderful nurses working at all of our locations: Cozad Community Hospital, Cozad Community Medical Clinic, Central Plains Home Health and Hospice, and Meadowlark Pointe. They go to work each day or night and care for patients in our community and surrounding area, and we greatly appreciate each and every one of them and the special skills and talents that they bring to our Health System.
