Friday, April 27, 2018
Cheryl Nemeth is our last lab tech for the week! Cheryl has been with the Cozad Community Hospital lab for 20+ years and she wears many hats. You will see her not only in the lab at the hospital but she also works over at our Outreach Clinic and at our Medical Clinic. Cheryl lives in Cozad with her husband Dr. Nemeth and has two college kids Bayleigh and Bryce. She graduated in 1991 and trained in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Her first job was in Norway House Manitoba on and Indian Reservation. This is where she met and married her husband Dr. Nemeth. After a few years the couple moved to Cozad and this has become home.
What inspired you to be a lab tech: “I loved the science field and knew I wanted to be a part of the healthcare field. I was on a waiting list for radiation therapy and medical technology, and medical technology became available first so that made my decision. Was a great career choice!”
Favorite Part of the Job: “The coworkers, and people we serve. I also love a challenge and how medicine is changing.”
Hobbies outside of work: “ Reading, watching movies, vacations to warmer places, and spending time with family and friends. Cheryl also devotes a lot of time as a volunteer, she’s part of the Kids of the Kingdom program and many other community groups.”
