National Rural Health Day 2018

The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health sets aside the third Thursday of every November to celebrate National Rural Health Day. National Rural Health Day is an opportunity to "Celebrare the Power of Rural." Cozad Community Health System currenlty employs 155 people that live in and around the Cozad area. In our rural community we are priviledged to have six Providers serving the healthcare needs of all people in our area. Our Providers offer full-spectrum Family Medicine including prenatal and postnatal obstetrical care.

Our Hospital has an Outreach Clinic where visiting Specialists come on a scheduled bases. We currently have over 20 visiting Specialists that come to our hospital to do surgeries, tests and more right here in Cozad! The Operating Room in our Hospital has been under construction since beginning of October. The OR renovation will be done the beginning of December.

Cozad Community Physical Therapy

As a part of Cozad Community Hospital, Cozad Community Physical Therapy provides physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, athletic training and wound care services to people of our rural community. We have six Physical Therapists, an Occupational Therapist and a Massage Therapist who is also our Athletic Trainer. We also have four Wound Care Certified Specialists in our Wound Care Clinic, part of Cozad Community Hospital. Wound care services are provided through physical therapy department as well as our through our home health agency, Central Plains Home Health and Hospice.

Central Plains Home Health and Hospice

Central Plains Home Health and Hospice covers five counties, employing nurses and aides who make over 7,000 home visits each year. Central Plains Home Health and Hospice assists patients to remain safe in their homes, bringing healthcare services right to them.

Meadowlark Pointe

Meadowlark Pointe, is our assisted living located on the northwest side of Cozad, it currently has 24 rooms. Come January the size will officially be doubled. In progress is an addition of 26 rooms. Of those 26 rooms, 12 will be assisted and 14 will be memory care. Along with adding rooms, there will be a new Chapel and an enlarged commercial kitchen. This addition will not only create more rooms, but will also create more jobs for our community as we continue to grow. There is a growing need for memory care in not only Cozad, but in the area. Numbers for memory care needs are expected to double by 2050. This addition will allow Cozad to meet the needs of the poplulation.
