Get Ready for Spring Allergies

Apr 10, 2025   |   Karlie Rose Buss , CCHS Director of Marketing & Communications

Allergy season is right around the corner. With dirt work beginning and planting season soon underway, allergens will be in the air, and for many people, that means the onset of seasonal allergy symptoms. Common spring allergens include tree pollen, grass pollen, and mold spores. Tree pollen is particularly high during the spring months, with birch, oak, and cedar trees releasing large amounts of pollen, which can trigger sneezing, congestion, and itchy eyes. Grass pollen follows closely behind, peaking in late spring. Additionally, as the weather warms up, mold spores from rotting leaves and grasses increase, which can also contribute to allergy flare-ups.

If you're one of the many people who suffer from seasonal allergies, it’s important to prepare and take action to manage your symptoms.

Cozad Community Health System (CCHS) offers allergy testing and relief services at both our Cozad and Eustis medical clinics to help you find the relief you need. Our experienced providers are here to help you identify triggers and develop a personalized treatment plan to keep you feeling your best during allergy season. Monitoring pollen levels with apps like WeatherBug or The Weather Channel can also help you stay informed about when to expect high pollen counts in the air. These apps provide allergy alerts and pollen forecasts to help you plan your outdoor activities and manage your symptoms accordingly. A proactive approach can make all the difference in enjoying the season more comfortably.
